FAQ's

How long does an EPC last?

For both, Domestic & Commercial, EPC's are valid for 10years.

How long does it take to get an epc?

For Domestic Properties it shouldn’t take more than 24 hours (unless there are problems with your landmark address) from when the assessment has been completed.

For Commercial Properties the timescale is down to how complex the building is but I can guarantee every effort is made to make them as swift as procedure possible and generally speaking shouldn’t take longer than 48 hours from when the assessment has been completed.

How will I know when it is complete?

You will receive an email containing your certificate on a pdf file as soon as the work has been submitted onto the secure database.

Why all the photos?

This is for documentary evidence only, they are for me to prove to my accreditation company that the information I collect is accurate, as every assessors work is audited on a regular basis to maintain high standards.

What does the survey involve and how long does it take?

For domestic epc’s some of the things considered are age of building, insulation (wall, floor & loft), heating elements and controls, windows and light bulbs. So long as there are no complications an average 3 bed house will take between 30-45 minutes.

For commercial properties some of the things considered in the survey are, age of the building, heating, ventilation & air conditioning & controls, windows, light bulbs, wall constructions. An average retail unit will take around 45 minutes and some buildings several days.
